Check Out These Mind-blowing Styles For Future Brides Who Are Fashionistas.

Why Men Cheat On Their Wives

Why do men cheat on their wives? This is a question that I have being asking myself, and lots of people have asked the same question, some said its in man's nature to cheat on their wives, but to me I think is not really the reason, and in my opinion there are several reason why some men cheat.

These are some of the reasons 1)dirtiness) remember in the Bible it is written that cleanliness is close to Godliness. Some ladies are so dirty that you can't even stand them, let alone sleeping on the same bed with them.

This made some men not to introduce their wives to their friends because of  their inability to take good care of themselves.  Some of them can't take a proper bathe or dress well when going out. While some go out with flat breast, not wearing bra to make breast look good. Men can no longer fine their pretty wives anymore.

2 Careering, days are gone when a man pampers his wife and buy some gift for her, now reverse is the case a woman need to do virtually everything to keep her man.

By praying, spending most of her time with the family, nice delicacy etc because if she don't, she might end up loosing him for others, cause there are lots of ladies out there that are willing and ready to do all that even more just to have him.

Awesome Power Of A Woman

Women are very gifted and blessed by God.

Woman,wonderfully and fearfully made
Yet, kind hearted and lovingly great.

Sacrifices,above her understanding and imaginations
All for the comfort and happiness of the nations.

Weak or strong, she remains the lioness to her offsprings
Ever ready for Battle of protection in or outside the rings.

When she is with the right man of love
Living fountain flows through her like a gentle dove.

She serves her irresistible dishes to her man of honour
Rejoices when it is well devoured by the man of valour.

She is an embodiment of enjoyment and sweetness
Highest moment of mens' spiritual weakest greatness.

Her strength is unimaginably powerful and awesome
The number of kings ruined by her is worrisome.

Dare her to your detriment, kings in her defence
Future in shambles, better not to commence.

Love and cherish her, be marvelled at the outcome
Great and lovely is the woman, her best is yet to come.

Oh! what a world, incomplete without women
It would have been a lonely world for all men.

Busy And Scary

A very busy street,
Now busy and scary.
People were running,
Running with great fear.
And what could that be?
I wish someone could tell.

Everyone was running,
To an unknown destination.
The land was filled with evil.
Everything has changed,
The good turned bad,
And the bad was even worst.

The younger ones were crying,
Hearts were broken, tears everywhere.
We need liberation, but no one cares.
How can we be saved?
Only time will tell.

Founders Of Bitcoin Exchange Missing After "Hack" Of $3.6 billion

_This is the biggest heist in the short history of cryptocurrencies._

Crypto enthusiasts are seeing some topsy-turvy times. After El Salvador approved bitcoin as a legal tender earlier this month, China came down heavily on mining operations on its mainland, crashing the value of cryptocurrencies globally. _Now a $3.6 billion scam involved in cryptocurrency trade has come to light in South Africa, which is being termed as the biggest "heist" in the short history of cryptocurrencies._

Brothers Ameer and Raees Cajee started Africrypt in South Africa in 2019. The company provided its users with updates on cryptocurrency trading and allowed them to create portfolios of cryptocurrency investments. By April last year, Africrypt had purchased 69,000 bitcoins, which is roughly worth $4 billion, for its customers.

Ameer, the COO, then informed their clients that Africrypt had been hacked and their wallets and accounts had been compromised. He also asked the clients to not report this to authorities since it would delay the recovery process.

A few suspicious clients contracted attorneys to look into the matter but the Cajee brothers were untraceable and involved the federal crimes unit. Further investigations found that Africrypt employees had lost access to the back-end platforms, seven days before the alleged 'hack'.

Africrypt bankers, First National Bank (FNB) allegedly facilitated the transfer of Africyrpt's pooled funds onto the bitcoin network in April after the 'hack' but have denied this and refused to reveal further details, Independent Online reported.
_South Africa's financial regulator, Finance Sector Authority does not consider cryptocurrency to fall under its jurisdiction._

_Bank for International Settlement said, "Cryptocurrencies are speculative assets rather than money, and used to facilitate money laundering, ransomware attacks, and other financial crimes."_

_Unregulated and unauthorized, cryptocurrencies often lack safeguards for investors* ._ In 2019, over 115,000 people were left without their share of deposits, when the founder and CEO of QuadrigaCX, Canada's biggest bitcoin exchange, Gerald Cotten passed away.

Months after his death, Cotten's widow revealed that QuadrigaCX's funds were held in cold wallets - offline storage for cryptocurrency, whose passwords were known only to Cotten and now lost forever. Engadget reported this loss to be $200 million CAD (~163 million USD).

While the QuadrigaCX incident might be termed unfortunate, 400,000 users lost their money when Turkish cryptocurrency exchange, Thodex, ceased operations in April this year after the government banned cryptocurrencies for buying goods and services.

Operating since 2017, Thodex introduced a freeze in transactions for a five-day period to facilitate its sale. Users could not access their accounts or withdraw their money and the CEO, Faruk Fatih Ozer, left the country. The investor amount lost was reported to be $2 billion.

" DON' T WASTE YOUR TIME TO PROVE YOUR VALUE

Dogs were put to compete with the cheetah, the goal was to find out who is faster.  Everyone was surprised that the cheetah didn't move out of it's place, they asked the race coordinator what happened!? His response after seeing this picture:

"Sometimes trying to prove that you're the best is an insult. We don't need to go down to other people's level, to make them understand that we are the strongest.  Think hard and save your energy for what you deserve.

Cheetah uses its speed to hunt not to prove to dogs that it is faster and stronger.

" DON' T WASTE YOUR TIME TO PROVE YOUR VALUE.

See How Lagos State Lawmakers Approved Sanwo-Olu's Request For N85bn Bond.

The Lagos State House of Assembly has approved Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s request of ₦ 85 billion special dispensation for bond redemption as well as ₦85 billion for bridge loan for a quarter.

This is in pursuant to the approval of Bonds, Loans and other Security Law of Lagos State 2015 and comes at 9.25% per annum to bond financing programme.

At a sitting on Monday, the Chairman of the Committee on Finance, Hon. Rotimi Olowo, stated that the terms of reference of the request received from the executive arm appraise the request for a special dispensation; enquire into the debt profile of the State and ascertain the source of the fund for repayment and refinancing.

According to Hon. Olowo, based on briefing and documents received, the redemption of bonds will allow for extension of maturity of the same with a two years moratorium in 2031 and the special dispensation approval will enable the State earmarks for capital projects.

Addressing journalists after the approval, Hon. Olowo explained that the request from the governor had two aspects.

The first was for an approval for Bond Brigde Loan which would allow the state to access bond market as soon as possible while the second aspect is a loan from a commercial bank at the interest rate of 9.25.

Olowo explained that as at February this year, the federal government went to bond market at coupon rate of 12% , saying that in june it had increased to 13.5%.

He also said comparing the rate with the bond secured by the state government in 2016 and 2017, the least of all was 16.6%, adding that the highest was around 17.25%.

Olowo explained that the opportunity the market provided was enough for the state to access it now, adding that the state would be able to get the rate cheaper and that the current bond of the state would mature in 2024.

“When you look at our Consolidation Debt Service Account (CDSA) we have about N22billion and we are talking N101.2billion in the next 2 or 3years. It will amount to a lot of pressure on our debt obligation, so what we thought that is necessary is that we should quickly access the bond market with the approval of the House so that we can get it at  cheaper rate and it will be for 10years with 2years moratorium.

“What it means is that, in the next two years after securing the bond we will not pay any money. We will not pay the interest and the capital, it will be like tax holiday. It will relieve the state the burden of sourcing for money to pay the creditors.

“On the second aspect, if today we don’t access the commercial loan from one of the banks at a single digit of 9.25%, we will still be losing because what we will still access, we will pay the holders of the bond between now and the next one months. That means we have been able to save money worth an average of N1.5billion in form of seeking fund to be able to  make up to 2023.

“So, if we don’t pay that in the next three years, what it means is that we have gotten a saving of about N75billion. It is obvious that there cannot be a better time for the state to go for the bond market which we called ‘ Special Dispensation Bond’ and the second is a loan from a commercial bank at the interest rate of 9.25 which is very cheap. That is the reason why the Assembly speedily supports the executive. We always want to support the executive when it comes to infrastructure,” Olowo said.

Bill to criminalise illegal trading of human organs has scaled second reading at the Lagos State House of Assembly with the Speaker, Rt.

Bill scales second reading as lawmakers call for more sanctions.
Speaker Obasa wants ritualists punished by bill

A bill to criminalise illegal trading in human organs has scaled second reading at the Lagos State House of Assembly with the Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Obasa, describing it as one of the best things to happen to the state.

Before committing the bill to the House committee on Health, Obasa said the  should also make provision to criminalisation of the activities of the ritualists.

He directed that the administration of criminal justice law be studied so that the Organ Harvest and Transplantation bill being considered can be all-encompassing.

Earlier, the chairman, House Committee on Health, Hon. Hakeem Sokunle (Oshodi-Isolo 1), explained that the bill captures the legal framework for the regulation of organ transplantation from donors either living or dead to patients in need.

Sokunle said the bill has seven parts with 37 sub-sections and tries to curb illegal trade in human parts.

Under its offence and penalties clause, the bill states that a person who removes the organ of another person for a reason other than for therapeutic purposes commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a term of 10 years without an option of fine.

The bill also stipulates that a person or any hospital and "who, for the purposes of transplant, conducts, associates with, or helps in any manner in the removal of any organ without authority commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding N5 million or a term of 10 years.

Contributing to the debate, Hon. Gbolahon Yishawu (Eti-Osa 2), said that the bill would help in putting a stop to organ trafficking. He called the attention of his colleagues to some grey areas in the bill.

Hon. Rotimi Olowo (Somolu 1) condemned the act of harvesting organs for monetary gain in some parts of Nigeria adding that the bill would put an end to such as well as protect minors and the mentally ill.

Olowo argued that the bill would bring about the sanctity of life and human dignity, adding that penalties for such acts should be stiffer than what was prescribed in the bill.

The lawmaker added that the bill provides for certified medical laboratories for the organs donated by donors and that this is aimed at stopping the involvement of quacks and the criminally minded.

Also, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Wasiu Eshinlokun-Sanni, lamented the high rate of organ trafficking in the country, adding that the bill was all encompassing and that it should be supported by all members of the House.

The Leader of the House, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, described the bill as a product of deep reflection on the part of the state government.

Itemisinng the various processes of organ transplantation as prescribed by the bill, Agunbiade added that it would improve procedure and discourage the act of organ harvesting for financial gain.

"The bill will ensure that organ transplanting is not all-comers affair in the health sector in Lagos," Agunbiade said.

Sonali Debnath Bts Army, From India Have A Message For Jeon Jungkook.June 15, 2021

Dear Oppa,

Jeon Jungkook Shi,

I would like to write this letter to BTS Jungkook shi, although I love each of the members of BTS and I even don't know whether it will be able to reach him (Jungkook Shi) as I am not a fan of expressing my feelings or emotions very well. I may be out-going person or fun-loving, but inside I am just as shy as Jungkook Shi.

Unlike him, it's hard for me to be as dedicated, motivated, hardworking and growing confident about myself. And I see all those traits growing each day as time goes by looking at him for last 8 years.

All the other members have grown so much all these years and I have admired every single time I saw them on TV or YouTube, that's how I am able to see them on screen not at any concerts or saw them in real life.

Jungkook Shi has made my life to be more of person who I thought i could never be as a person as it was hard for me to accept who I am supposed to be and what I want to be for myself and how important it is to give ourselves a chance of improvement and growth while all the surroundings made you believe you cannot, and all this I got to learn from Jungkook and all the members of BTS RM, Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin and V.

I am an ARMY and I have a role model for me and that is Jeon Jungkook Shi. He is the person I idolize more than anything and he gives me hope of being better for not anyone but for myself. Thank you for your hardwork and keep giving positivity around the world with all of the members of BTS.

Thank You,
Borahae (I purple you)
Sonali Debnath (India)

18-year-old EndSARS protester gives birth in prison

One of the youths arrested in Ondo State by security operatives during the EndSARS protest has given birth in prison custody.

The 18-year-old girl, Kemisola Oguniyi gave birth in Surulere Prison in Ondo West Local Government Area of the state where she was remanded.

Kemisola was arrested alongside three others, Ayodele Bukunmi, Ojo Samuel and Ani Obinna during the EndSARS saga.

They were remanded in prison custody shortly after a violent protest which rocked some parts of the country.

The charges preferred against them before the court were conspiracy to commit the felonies to wit, arson, riotous assembly, stealing and malicious damage.

It was gathered that Kemisola went into labour on June 15, 2021, and gave birth to a baby boy the following day.

Kemisola’s lawyer, Tope Tomekun, in a letter addressed to the Chief Judge of Ondo State, Oluwatoyin Akeredolu, said Kemisola was innocent of the crime preferred against her.

Tomekun emphasized that Kemisola was on her way to the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA, to obtain money for her mother’s treatment when she was apprehended by the Nigerian Army who handed her over to the Police for investigation.

He also appealed to the Commissioner of Justice and Attorney-General, Sir Titiloye Charles, to use his powers to discontinue the prosecution of Kemisola and others.

Simi shuts down pregnancy rumourJune 16, 2021

Multiple award-winning singer, Simi, has quelled rumours that she is pregnant with baby number two.

The Duduke singer earlier posted a picture on her Instagram story showing her baby girl, Adejare, in a posture that seemed like she was about to somersault.

Amazed by the different poses her daughter serves her daily when taking her photo, the singer captioned the picture “New day, New style.”

The picture made her fans opine that her baby girl’s act means that the singer is pregnant with baby number 2.

Reacting to the notion, Simi simply quelled the rumour as she took to her Instagram stories, saying, “Lotta people saying babies do that when their mom is pregnant. She did that months ago too, and I ain’t seen no baby. Don’t let me block you ok? Pregnant ko covenant ni.”(sic)

The sonorous singer further seized the opportunity to educate trolls on how their negative comments affect famous people. Simi implied that as much as a person is famous, they are also humans and could be depressed based on negative comments online.

“To be famous is to be assumed to have power, which is true. But in the analysis of fame, people often ignore the vulnerability that comes with fame and they are unable to see how others who have nothing to lose can lie and connive in order to take advantage of that fame, while not giving a single thought to the feelings and humanity of the famous person.”

Weeks ago, the singer who is married to iconic Nigerian singer, Adekunle Gold, unveiled the face of her child as she clocked one.

The unveiling was to the delight of her fans who had been longing to see what her child looks like as she never featured her child’s face in photographs.

Shortly after the unveiling, the picture trended on the Nigerian digital space as many remarked that the child is a ‘carbon copy’ of her mother.

Putin, Biden agree on return of envoys after ‘constructive summit’June 16, 2021

Russian President Vladimir Putin said yesterday that he and United States (U.S.) President Joe Biden agreed in a “constructive” summit to return ambassadors to their posts, lowering tensions and beginning consultations to replace the last remaining treaty between the two countries limiting nuclear weapons.

Putin said after the summit meeting that there was “no hostility” during the talks that wrapped up more quickly than expected.

The two sides had said they expected to meet for four to five hours but spent less than three hours together, including an opening meeting with just the two presidents and each one’s top foreign aide.

When it was over, Putin had first crack at describing the results at a solo news conference, with Biden to follow with his own session with reporters.

The Russian president said there was an agreement between the leaders to return their ambassadors to their respective postings. Both countries had pulled back their top envoys to Washington and Moscow as relations chilled in recent months.

Russia’s ambassador to the U.S., Anatoly Antonov, was recalled from Washington about three months ago after Biden called Putin a killer. U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan left Moscow almost two months ago, after Russia suggested he return to Washington for consultations. Putin said the ambassadors were expected to return to their posts in the coming days.

Putin also said the two sides agreed in principle to begin consultations on cyber security issues, though he continued to deny U.S. allegations that Russian government was responsible for a spate of recent high-profile hacks against business and government agencies in the United States and around the globe.

Biden and Putin plunged into the face-to-face talks yesterday at a lush lakeside Swiss mansion, a highly anticipated summit at a time when both leaders say relations between their countries are at a low point.

As the two leaders appeared briefly before media at the start of the meeting, Biden called it a discussion between “two great powers” and said it was “always better to meet face-to-face.” Putin said he hoped the talks would be “productive”.

The meeting in a book-lined room had a somewhat awkward beginning — both men appeared to avoid looking directly at each other during a brief and chaotic photo opportunity before a scrum of jostling reporters.

Biden nodded when a reporter asked if Putin could be trusted, but the White House quickly sent out a tweet insisting that the president was “very clearly not responding to any one question, but nodding in acknowledgment to the press generally.”

The two leaders did shake hands — Biden extended his hand first and smiled at the stoic Russian leader — moments earlier when they posed with Swiss President Guy Parmelin, who welcomed them to Switzerland for the summit.

Zenith bank entangled in scandal as senate probes NSITFJune 17, 2021

Zenith Bank Plc, one of the largest financial service provider in Nigeria and Anglophone West Africa may have landed itself in a big mess as the Nigerian Senate is set to probe the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) over an alleged diversion and financial mismanagement of N61.1 billion by its management.

The Senate Committee on Public Accounts (SPAC) has, therefore, invited the director general of the NSITF and other top officials of the agency to appear before it yesterday to explain what they know about the alleged diversion of money.

The Chairman of the SPAC, Senator Mathew Urhoghide, said that the invitation was based on three queries issued in the 2018 Auditor General of the Federation’s Report, which is being considered by the upper legislative chamber.

According to auditor general’s query, the NSTIF was accused of diverting the sum of N5.5 billion from its account with the Zenith Bank while in another query, the agency allegedly paid N38.2 billion as personnel cost from 2012 till 2017, which was not approved by National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission. The query further alleged that N17.1 billion was transferred to some persons and companies from these account.

The query reads: “Audit observed that the fund had been implementing a salary structure that is not approved by the National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission. As a result, irregular payment of N38,219,919,530.32 by way of personnel cost was made to the staff of the Fund from 2012 to 2017.

“Risk implementation of unapproved salary structure may result in wastage of public funds, as remuneration may be higher than the productivity level of staff. Recommendation: the managing director is required to provide the approval of the National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission for the implementation of the fund’s salaries structure.”

Another query by the auditor-general reads: “Audit of the fund’s bank statements for the period under review revealed that contributions received from federal government in 2014, amounting to N5,500,000,000.00 were diverted to a Zenith Bank account number 1013938003, instead of the Skye Bank account number 1790122304 into which other contributions were paid, without providing any authority or any form of explanation for such diversion.

“Audit further observed the following: (A). The bank account was opened without the approval of the Accountant-General of the Federation, as no such approval was presented for audit.

“(B). The new account was opened specifically for this purpose as seen in the bank statements where a first tranche of N 2,750,000,000.00 was used in opening the account on August 29, 2014.

“Transfers were further made from the account to third parties, individuals and other NSITF accounts without payment vouchers and other supporting documents to authenticate such transfers.

“This puts doubt in the genuineness of all the transactions in the bank account. Consequently, audit cannot accept such transactions without necessary evidence as legitimate charges against public funds.”

The third query reads: “Audit observed from the fund’s Statements of Account No. 1750011691 with Skye Bank Plc, for the period January 1, 2013 to December 20, 2013, and Statements of Account No.2001754610 with First Bank Plc for the period January 7, 2013 to February 28, 2013, totaling N17,158,883,034.69 were transferred to some persons and companies from these accounts.

Embattled promising gospel minister, Adeyinka Alaseyori, has finally responded to the crisis that rocked social media over the criticism over her hit song entitled “Oniduro Mi” by a popular gospel artiste, Tope Alabi.

Alaseyori during her birthday praise concert, on Tuesday night, appealed to fans to allow peace reign, just as she described the senior gospel musician, Tope Alabi as a mother in the industry.

“I am delighted to worship and praise God. I want everyone all over the world to join me and I will like to say this. Please, let peace reign. Mummy Tope Alabi is our mother. Let us embrace peace and be happy in God,” she added.

The duo has been in the news since Saturday following the public criticism of Tope Alabi at a music ministration condemning the hit track of Adeyinka Alaseyori, saying it lacks spirituality.

The statement eventually became the talk of the town as Tope Alabi was widely condemned by many over her position on the song.

However, the tension, especially in social media could be dowsed as Alaseyori had eventually displayed maturity to calm her fans, admonishing them to embrace peace and show love to Tope Alabi.

CEO absconds as forex firm allegedly defrauds 52 investors of N122mJune 16, 2021

Victims of an alleged scam perpetrated by a Lagos-based forex training and capital investment company, MBA Capital and Trading Limited, are worried over their unpaid dividend and capital, and the disappearance of the Chief Executive Officer, Maxwell Odum.

The victims, numbering 52, said the total amount they were defrauded of was N122,510,000, adding that the company closed on December 22, 2020, for the festive season but had failed to resume since then.

One of the victims, Paul Smith, told PUNCH Metro that he invested N48m in a scheme promoted by the firm with a promise that he would be getting 15 per cent return on investment every month, but he had been unable to get the promised dividend.

He said he and other investors petitioned the Special Fraud Unit, Ikoyi, on June 6, 2021, adding that more victims had also come out to speak on the alleged scam, bringing the total to over 70.

Smith stated, “The last email we got from the firm was in February telling us that our capital would be refunded. I invested N48m and I’ve been down since. Odum has over N120bn of people’s funds with him and I know over 70 victims.

“What convinced me to join the scheme was the size of the office and operations. The company has a lot of workers. It has offices at Admiralty Way, Lekki, and Allen Avenue, Ikeja. In Lekki, it has over 40 staff members and it was operating normally before now.

“The office was shut on December 22, 2020, with an assumption that it was the festive season break. They promised to resume on January 4, 2021, but they didn’t. We cannot reach their CEO anymore. All the offices are under lock and key. We have petitioned the Special Fraud Unit, Ikoyi, which has assured us that the case will be investigated.”

Another victim, Misan Sagay, said her brother introduced her to the investment firm, adding that she invested all her savings of N3m, but did not receive any dividend before the company ceased to operate.

“My brother told me about them in October 2020. My first investment was in November 2020 and I have never received any return on investment. I invested N3m. I checked them online and I saw that they were registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Now, I’m hearing that it was a part registration.

“My brother invested N1m in August and he got his first dividend in October and that was the last he got. They promised to pay us our capital in January, but we haven’t seen anything. I want the police to help us fish out the CEO; he should be prosecuted.”

He told PUNCH Metro that he had already received two dividends before the CEO allegedly absconded, adding that he wanted his money.

Ihejirika stated, “One of my pastor brothers introduced me to the MBA. He attends Christ Embassy with the owner of the company. With that, I was confident since we’re all members of the Christ Embassy. I thought there won’t be an issue. “Even my pastor, who introduced me to the company, invested N5m, while I invested N4.9m. I invested in July 2020 and was promised 15 per cent return on investment every 30 days. I received dividends for August and September, but I was not paid in October.

“I need my capital. I’m not even concerned about the RoI. This country is all about scam. I just want my capital back. I’ve learnt my lesson.”

When PUNCH Metro contacted the police inspector in charge of the case at the SFU, Sunny Shafau, he said the petition had been approved but investigation into the case could not commence until the petitioners come forward.

“I have received the petition with 52 names attached to it. The petition has been approved. We are waiting for the petitioners to come forward so that investigation can commence. I can’t use my personal money to fund petitions,” he said.

Thermocool owner, police detain workers over false accusation, demand ₦10mln

The owner of First Shopwize century mall, a franchise dealership of Haier Thermocool, Rose Okorie, in collusion with the officers of Nigerian Police Force, from Area P Police Station, Ipaja, has illegally detained her staff over false accusation of stealing.

According to a source, who didnt want his name mentioned, Freelanews was informed that four members of staff have been in detention for over 24hours over a bailable offence, breaching their rights to personal liberty.

"I think what happened was just unnecessary show of force and wickedness. The owner of this Haier Thermocool showroom in Baruwa Gate here accused her staff of stealing from her and yet what happened can't be tagged as stealing," he said.

From what our correspondent gathered, the manager and three other workers were arrested yesterday, June 15, 2021 and one was only allowed bail this evening, June 16, to reunite with her family.

"Other three are still in detention as I'm speaking with you, which I believe is against the law of the land.

"Why haven't they been charged to court?" our source asked.

Findings about the crime revealed that it was alleged that the store manager was in the habit of selling products the store didn't have to customers.

"What happened was that whenever customers walked in for generating set, the manager will instruct the customers to pay into his account since the store doesn't sell. He would explained to the customer that he would send the driver to bring generator from their other store.

"But what the manager always did was to send the driver to another store to purchase the product and then sell to the customers.

"Then the manager would share whatever profits that may accrue from these transactions with other workers at the store," he explained.

According to another insider, the owner of the franchise store located at No 167, Ipaja, Ayobo-Ipaja road in Alimosho Local Government had after she was informed about the practice, audited her account and confirmed that the book was balanced.

It was, however, alleged that Okorie insisted that the workers should be locked up till they are able to cough out N10million.

"She later agreed that the three salesgirls detained with the manager should pay N500,000 each while the manager must pay N1mllion before she could be pacified," he revealed.

Though one of the salesgirls had been released on bail, Okorie was alleged to have threatened that 30% of the money she was demanding for must be paid in less than 24hours before other could be released.

It was also alleged that she also said that the released girl would be returned to detention and none of them would be released if her condition was not met.

Family and friends of these accused persons hereby called on the relevant authorities to intervene and call these overzealous police officers to order as no one is allowed to be detained more than 24hours without an option of bail.

Troops stop 73 Nasarawa men going to Imo with 47 okadasJune 16, 2021.

No fewer than 73 young men from Nasarawa State were on Monday intercepted by troops of the 72 Special Forces Brigade, Nigerian Army, Makurdi, Benue State.

The young men were said to be heading for Imo State when the soldiers, who were working on an intelligence report, intercepted them at the Agan tollgate, Makurdi.

The men had with them 47 Bajaj motorcycles in five trucks conveying some minerals from Plateau State to a Port Harcourt-based company.

The Benue State Deputy Governor, Benson Abounu, who visited the scene on Tuesday, commended the troops for their diligence and professional conduct.

He stated that despite attempts to evade arrest, the soldiers were able to stop the trucks and apprehend the men.

Abounu said what he had seen and heard were contrary to the speculation that a truck loaded with arms and men to attack the town was intercepted, adding, “No arms were found after a thorough search conducted by the soldiers.”

The deputy governor wondered how such a large army of young men from the same state could be found together and going to a place like Imo State, “which they know to be experiencing serious security challenges at the moment.”

Abounu charged the security men to carry out a detailed profiling of the passengers for further action as the answers coming from them did not add up.

He said a thorough search had been conducted on them with all goods in the trucks offloaded and their motorcycles dismantled for proper search, adding that no arms were found.

One of the young men, who identified himself as Emmanuel Ayugwa, said they were going to Imo State for okada business.

Sexual Assault Update: Baba Ijesha Denied Bail, Case Transferred To High CourtJune 16, 2021

News Rain Nigeria reports that Baba Ijesha was taken to court in a black maria vehicle of the Rapid Response Squad.

Recall that Baba Ijesha has been in police custody since April 22, 2021, when the Lagos State Police Command announced his arrest for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in the care of popular comedienne, Adekola Adekanya, otherwise called Princess.

The PUNCH had earlier reported that Lagos State Attorney-General, Moyosore Onigbanjo, SAN, said Baba Ijesha might be sentenced to life imprisonment if found guilty in court.

“After due consideration of the facts in the case file, the Directorate of Public Prosecutions issued legal advice on the 4th of May, 2021, which is to the effect that a prima facie case has been disclosed against Mr. Olanrewaju James and recommended he be charged under the following provisions of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,” he had said.

On May 17, 2021, Baba Ijesha was granted bail by magistrates and judicial workers on tour to decongest prisons in the state during the industrial action by the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria.

However, Baba Ijesha could not meet the bail conditions which include N500,000 and a level 16 civil servant as surety.

Baba Ijesha consequently appeared before the magistrate in Yaba on Wednesday.

Speaking with reporters after the arraignment today, one of the counsels for the suspect, Kayode Olabinran, said he prayed the court to grant his client bail on health grounds.

He, however, said the magistrate declined granting his client bail as the case was already filed at the High Court in Lagos by the Directorate of Public Prosecutions in the state.

He said, “He (Baba Ijesha) was not granted bail because the case has been filed at the High Court and that has denied the (Magistrate) Court the power to grant him bail.”

Olabinran also said the date for the hearing at the High Court was not yet known.

Also, Baba Ijesha’s colleague, Yomi Fabiyi, who was in court in solidarity with the actor, said “justice must not be dispensed with personal sentiment”.

Biden, Putin handshake kicks off Geneva summitJune 16, 2021

Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin kicked off their summit Wednesday with a handshake outside the Geneva villa where the two presidents plan to confront each other over the worst US-Russia tensions in years.

Following an introduction by their host, Swiss President Guy Parmelin, Biden extended his arm for his first handshake with Putin since taking office in January.

“It’s always better to meet face to face,” Biden said as the two men sat down with their top diplomats, kicking off the summit, where ghosts of the Cold War hovered over modern-day US concerns about Russian cyberattacks and what the White House sees as a dangerous authoritarian drift.

Striking a positive note, Putin said he hoped the “meeting will be productive” as the tete-a-tete opened.

The setting — a sumptuous villa overlooking Lake Geneva — may be picturesque, but a gruelling diplomatic face-off that could last up to five hours awaits, with no food breaks planned.

“There will be no breaking of bread,” a senior US official said.

The choice of Geneva, following long US-Russian negotiations, recalls the Cold War summit between US president Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev in the Swiss city in 1985.

The villa, surrounded by a lush park, was under intense security. Grey patrol boats cruised along the lake front and heavily-armed camouflaged troops stood guard at a nearby yacht marina.

The classical villa’s symmetrical design had made it possible to split it evenly so both leaders could have access to exactly the same amount of space, a Geneva protocol official told Swiss public broadcaster RTS.

In contrast with 1985, tensions are less about strategic nuclear weapons and competing ideologies than what the Biden administration sees as an increasingly hostile, rule-breaking regime.

From cyberattacks on American entities and meddling in the last two US presidential elections, to human rights violations and aggression against Ukraine and other European countries, Washington’s list of allegations against the Kremlin runs long.

Putin, however, came to the summit arguing that Moscow is simply challenging US hegemony — part of a bid to promote a so-called “multi-polar” world that has seen Russia draw close with the US’s arguably even more powerful adversary China.

Biden, ending an intensive first foreign trip as president, arrived in Geneva after summits with NATO and the European Union in Brussels, and a G7 summit in Britain.

Asked if he was ready for Putin, Biden smiled and said: “I’m always ready.”

– Optimism? ‘Not much’ –
In an interview with NBC, Putin scoffed at US accusations of dirty tricks abroad and authoritarian crackdowns at home.

As well as denying any connection to what the United States says are Russia-based hacking and ransomware gangs, Putin rejected having any hand in the deaths of many of his opponents during two decades in power.
